Turning Pigtails into Pretty.....

A Hair Tutorial!

Disclosure:  I never, in a million years, would have thought I'd be doing a hair tutorial!  I mean, I like my hair and all, but in the war between me and my locks, battles are won and lost daily.  But this morning, I remembered something that I used to do in high school.  I found that I liked the way my hair fell after it had been put up in a ponytail, so I went a step further and decided to curl pigtails!  I'm quite certain I'm the FIRST woman who's ever thought of this!  (note: my sarcasm font is on right here)

Anyway, this morning I thought I would give it a try.  I decided to take pictures along the way and if it didn't turn out well, it's easy enough to delete the pics.  But, alas, I loved the results!

So here goes....

A couple of quick tips:

  1. When you're dividing and rolling pieces of each pigtail, spray each piece with a good hairspray. (Usually the cheap ones are the strongest!)
  2. Let the rollers cool completely.
  3. When you take the rollers out and release the pigtail, DON'T brush your hair.  Just run your fingers through.
  4. Turn you head upside down and spray with hair spray.
  5. This would work on medium length hair as well as long.
I'll definitely be doing this again!  I just read an old post by Beautifully Invisible in which she stresses the importance of good hair grooming.  That seared me right to the soul, and I thought, "Man!  I really need to step up my hair game!"  And with this I think I have!

Love Maegan also has some FABULOUS and easy hair tutorials, so you may want to check hers out here.

  5. Tee hee to the picture of you in Pigtails! But the end result is so worth it! It's just a thought, but I might try this to reduce my curliness. If it works, I'll let you know. If not, I'll keep it to myself.

  7. Nicely done, Serene!
I'll have to try this! I have thin hair, and it's a daily struggle to make it look decent.
