~it's a LOVE thang!

Sweater:  Vintage Thrifted; Pants:  JCrew; Boots: had a long time, can't remember where I got them.
Before I started blogging; I really was not in to vintage clothing.  I didn't dislike it; I just never really thought about it.  When I was in HS, I wore a couple of sweaters that my stepmother had; but that was more out of necessity.  When my kids were much smaller, thrifting was done out of necessity and then of course, I was looking for things that looked new. I found, after I started blogging about my personal style that I gravitate toward vintage clothes.  The blogs that I seem to peruse and keep going back to feature alot of vintage wear.  I've mentioned before that I enjoy the quality of vintage clothes and the history.....that I'm sharing something that someone enjoyed before I owned it.

This sweater is one of my most recent vintage finds.  Naturally, I was drawn to the black and white aspect of it; but when I tried it on, it was the graphic design that made me refuse to leave the store without it!  I've worn in about 3 times in the past couple of weeks!

  3. Interesting sweater! Yesterday, I watched a young woman walk out of Goodwill with a tea length hot pink lace...all vintage and I knew it would be her Valentine's dress. I've found I've purchased a couple of vintage items I wouldn't have looked twice at before blogging.

  4. That is one very cool sweater! I never got into thrifting because there are no facilities where I live, but I do love hand-me-downs from past generations :)

Pam....I'll have to think on the vintage decorations..the biggest thing that comes to mind is Victorian ephemera...I love just about anything Victorian.

Shy....I agree...I think we share similar tastes! Great minds and all that! LOL

Terri...looking at other blogs is so inspiring...makes me look at some things a little differently and I am so glad! I don't just have what everyone else is wearing to choose from!

Leia....I definitely enjoy some wonderful hand me downs. Your clothes, however, with their drapiness and feminine aura...they're FABULOUS!

Bella.....You are the QUEEN of vintage!

  12. Thrifting is sort of ethical because you give a cloth a second chance and not just throw away!

  15. I found your blog through The Citizen Rosebud and I couldn't agree with you more. These days I don't look for "new" when thrifting, I look for unique and original pieces!
