Laura Petrie to the White Courtesy Phone

I'd call this my Laura Petrie look (ref: Dick Van Dyke Show). I always thought she had the cutest style. So, I've got my little cigarette pants and cute cardigan. Yesterday, I took a quick thrift trip to one of my staples. I have seen so many cute looks as I peruse blogs that I really had to keep myself focused. I think soon, I will do some thrifting hints. I've thrifted off and on for over 20 years. During that time, I've definitely refined my style and my method. I've had closet fulls of other people's junk and now I'm happy to say I have a closet full of treasure!

This Saturday is my birthday! I'll be officially mid 40s. I swear, I remember turning 40 YESTERDAY! For those of you in your 20s or 30s, you may think that you're having the time of your life now, but it just gets better. In my 30s, I was deep in the child rearing years. I hit my 40s with some BIG unexpected changes. But Wow! It's amazing how quickly things can turn around. I feel like thats another lesson I've learned. If things seem crappy, just wait a minute. They can turn on a dime to wonderful before you even know what happened! There's my pearls of wisdom for today children! Now pick up your toys, drink your milk and go play nice!

  4. I'm not sure if these are "style pants" but they are from J. Crew. I paid way more than I would normally pay, but I just loved how they look on and figured I'd be wearing them ALOT! Thanks for the birthday wishes! And Terri, I just ADORE Al Green....my kids bought me his complete greatest hits collection 2 mother's days ago!
